Flour export from Ukraine hit 8-year lowest so far 2020/21
October flour export from Ukraine totalled 11.76 thou. t, 21% lower from September supply and 66% down on October 2019/20, UkrAgroConsult writes.
Since the start of the 2020/21 season, flour shipment from Ukraine has reached 62 thou. t, 46% lower YoY. This is the minimum supply volume since 2012/13.
As reported, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) is the key market for Ukrainian flour with a 22% share in the reporting period. However, exports to this country dropped 2.5x YoY.
"Palestine and Somalia imported respectively 2.61 thou. t and 2.91 thou. t of flour, which ensured them 3rd and 4th positions in the major countries-importers rating," the report reads.
The most importers have reduced the volume of purchases, the largest reduction compared to the same period last year occurred for shipments to China (-87%), Mozambique (-62%), Belarus (-45%), Somalia (-25%).
Moldova increased purchases by 3%, Israel almost by 3x, Venezuela 4x. Mozambique did not import flour in October, China has not been buying fro three months already.
Staple grains export shipment from Ukraine has made up 22.12 mln t since the start of the 2020/21 season.
