Corn harvesting finalizes at 29 mln t, yielding 5.4 t/ha on average

Agriproducers in Ukraine harvested 28.8 mln t of corn on 5.3 mln ha or 98% of the planned areas as of December 10. Corn average yield amounts to 5.41 t/ha.

Under the data of the Harvest Online 2020 project, 13 regions of the country have completed corn campaign, including Vinnytsya, Donetsk, Zakarpattya, Kyiv, Kirovohrad, Luhansk, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Poltava, Kharkiv, Kherson, Cherkasy and Chernivtsi.

Regions with the highest volume of corn harvested:

  1. Chernihiv: 3921.7 thou. t
  2. Poltava: 3662.5 thou. t
  3. Sumy: 3146.7 thou. t
  4. Vinnytsya: 2572.6 thou. t
  5. Khmelnytsky: 2310.6 thou. t

Follow the updates with the Harvest Online 2020 project. The project is developed in partnership with Soufflet Agro Ukraine.

The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) in December report increased its estimate of corn production in Ukraine by 1 mln t to 29.5 mln t (November report: 28.5 mln t) in 2020/21.
