Corn export in Q4 2020 increase in monetary terms

In Q4 2020, corn export shipment from Ukraine totalled USD 1.64 bln, 8% higher YoY (Q4 2019: USD 1.52 bln), the data of the State Customs Service show.

In physical terms, the volume of corn supplies decreased by 10%. While in Q4 2019 corn exports from Ukraine amounted to 9.75 mln t, in Q4 2020 the volume dropped to 8.77 mln t.

The increase in exports in monetary terms is driven by rising grain prices in 2020. And the decrease in the physical volume of supplies is due to a significant fall in the crop yield.

As of January 6, corn shipment from Ukraine stood at 9.73 mln t, 2.6 mln t lower YoY.
