MHP allocated over UAH 85 mln to aid COVID-19 relief

The total MHP's contribution in the fight against coronavirus totalled over UAH 85 mln. The company specified that assistance was delivered on a number of levels.

"First, MHP transferred UAH 55 mln to the national coronavirus fund. The company also allocated another UAH 29 mln for the needs of 216 medical institutions in Vinnytsya and Cherkasy regions," the company says in a statement.

Ruslan Ponomarenko, the coordinator of the Cherkasy Regional Headquarters of Coronavirus Counteraction representing MHP, added that in order to organize mass delivery of necessary equipment and protection means for medical staff, the company together with Charitable Foundation "MHP to Community" initiated the creation of the "Cherkasy Joint Effort: Fight COVID-19" platform in Cherkasy region.

"This platform united the efforts of the authorities, business and the public of Cherkasy region in the fight against coronavirus. The first contribution — UAH 14 mln — was made by MHP, another 5 mln were donated by other Cherkasy committed entrepreneurs. We haven't overlooked a single support hospital," he said.

In addition to purchasing medical supplies, MHP has also launched other ways to support healthcare institutions. One of those is the "Meat Boxes for Healthcare Workers" project. It was introduced by a new retail network of the holding company "Myasomarket", the representatives of which provide foodstuffs for quick snacks to med teams Cherkasy support hospitals.

Previously reported that MHP received USD 1,414 mln of revenue for 9M 2020, down 6% year-on-year (9M 2019: USD 1,505 mln).
