Kuwait permitted import of small cattle from Ukraine
Ukraine and Kuwait have coordinated a new veterinary certificate for the export of small cattle. The relevant decision was taken this week by the competent authorities of the two states, the SSUFSCP(The State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection) reports.
"The Government realizes that Ukrainian businesses are looking for new opportunities on foreign markets at a time of recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic. Therefore, we help to remove all barriers to exports. Through the cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, our diplomats in Kuwait and the SSUFSCP, we have opened the Kuwait market for Ukrainian exporters," Minister of Foreign Affairs Dmytro Kuleba announces.
This is the second veterinary certificate approved by the two countries in the last month. Earlier, Ukrainian producers of milk and dairy products were authorized to export products to Kuwait.
"Ukrainian small cattle breeders are competitive on the global market. The opening of the Kuwait market for cattle exports creates additional opportunities for them. We, for our part, with our colleagues from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, will continue to work on opening up new export markets", adds Vladyslava Magaletska, head of the State Consumer Service of Ukraine.
In early March, 25 producers of milk and dairy products in Ukraine passed an audit conducted by the European Commission.
