Flour export from Ukraine plunged by 2.8x by June 9
Since the start of the 2020/21 season, flour export shipment from Ukraine has reached 114.9 thou. t, 204.5 thou. t or 64% less from the prior year's comparative indicator (319.4 thou. t), the information and analytical portal of the agro-industrial complex of Ukraine informs.
As of June 9, exports reached the following indicators:
- wheat flour: 113.8 thou. t, ▼203.3 thou. t or 64% down from the comparative period of 2019/20
- other types of flour: 1.1 thou. t, ▼1.2 thou. t or 52% less
Product shipment from Ukraine in 2019/20 made up 334.2 thou. t. Flour exports in the 2018/19 season reached 301.4 thou. t vs. 413 thou. t in 2017/18.

By 2025 the volume of world flour consumption may increase by about 20 mln t compared to the current level and reach apx. 400 mln t.
In 2020, UKRPROMINVEST-AGRO retained its status of the largest flour producer and exporter from Ukraine.
Wheat flour exports will fall 2.5x, to less than 130 thou. t in 2020/21, the head of millers association Rodion Rybchinsky stated.
As a reminder, the Ministry for the Development of Economy, Trade and Agriculture of Ukraine and grain market participants signed the Annex to the Memorandum of Understanding on 17 Aug. setting the limit for wheat export from Ukraine in the 2020/21 season at 17.5 mln t, rye 1 thou. t. Corn export cap in Ukraine was set at 24 mln t for the 2020/21 marketing season.
