Astarta harvests early grains on 53.7 thou. ha in 2021 crop year

The agri-industrial holding Astarta-Kyiv has started early grains harvesting in Poltava region. On 15 July, the new crop campaign will start in western regions.

The company harvests early grains on 53.7 thou. ha, including 46.5 thou. ha of winter wheat.

"This year's new crop campaign started a week later than in previous seasons. The farms are now harvesting rapeseed and wheat. The activities are carried out in conditions of high humidity, which creates difficulties for machinery in the fields, but at the same time has a positive effect on the process of wheat maturing and increasing its yields. And the correct technology of fertilisation, selection of varieties and care of crops allows us to ensure high grain quality," says Agriculture Head Vadym Skrypnyk.

The company notes that all its enterprises are fully supplied with the required machinery and equipment, so the duration of the harvesting campaign per crop will not exceed 10-14 days.

The company cultivates 243 ha in eight regions of Ukraine.

Agriproducers in Odesa region report a delayed new crop campaign and lower quality of winter cereals as a result of prolonged rains in June-July.
