Flour export from Ukraine plunged by 64% YoY in 2020/21, ten-season lowest

Flour export from Ukraine in 2020/21(July 2020-June 2021) dropped by 64% YoY to 113 thou. t. The volume exported is the 10-season lowest since 2011/12, UkrAgroConsult reports.

In May 2021, the export supply of flour made up 6 thou. t, 31% down YoY and 68% under May 2019/20.

"The export is shrinking on the production drop: in July-May 2020/21, flour production in Ukraine reduced by 25% YoY to 1166 thou. t," comment the analysts.

The majority of importers cut their purchases of Ukrainian flour in 2020/21:

  • U.A.E.: 66%
  • Moldova: 26%
  • Palestine: 41%
  • Somalia: 60%

As of 9 July, grain export from Ukraine reached 518 thou. t, 1.4x up YoY.
