ROSTOK-HOLDING harvests winter wheat at 5 t/ha, expects higher yield in foreign selection

ROSTOK-HOLDING launched the new crop campaign in its fields in Chernihiv region on 17 July. The company Novhorod-Siversky Agrarian Investments was the first to start winter wheat cuts with its three combine harvesters.

"In the first field, the harvesting started at 4.5 t/ha. Currently, the average yield is at the level of 5 t/ha. In previous years, he harvested winter wheat at 5.3-5.4 t/ha," says Oleksandr Sylenko, Novhorod-Siversky Agrarian Investments agronomist.

Winter wheat of the domestic selection is produced in the first field, whereas other fields were planted with German and Austrian selection. The average yield of the latter is expected higher.

Combine harvesters leased from third parties are expected to join the campaign, adds Oleksiy Kalyta, the director of Novhorod-Siversky Agrarian Investments.

The total area of winter wheat and spring barley is around 4 thou. ha.

The company plans to complete harvesting within three weeks.

In 2020, early grains yielded up to 6.07 t/ha in ROSTOK-HOLDING's farms.
