Agrotrade expects rapeseed to yield at 2.8 t/ha
Agrotrade Group has started winter rapeseed harvesting in Chernihiv region. 20 combine harvesters will cover 4.5 thou. ha of rapeseed.
The company expects to complete the new crop campaign in 10 days. The estimated rapeseed yield is 2.8 t/ha.
"It is too early to jump to conclusions, but it is already possible to say that the quality of grain is high. It is definitely better than last year," says Oleksandr Ovsyanik, Head of Agro-Industrial Department of Agrotrade.
The company notes that the timely application of fertilizers, appropriately selected protection systems and modern cultivation techniques practised by the company's specialists have once again proved to be effective. The abundant precipitation in winter and spring also had a positive impact. The chief agronomist admits that although the heatwave in late June burned the crops, the company farms will exceed the target yield of 2.8 t/ha.
The company also started harvesting organic wheat and winter barley in Kharkiv region.
"Yields in this region are also pleasing: while the plan was 3.5 t/ha of organic wheat, combines harvested around 4.3 t/ha, and winter barley yields were around 5 t/ha, against a target of 4.5 t/ha," the company says in a statement.
In spring, the company was forced to delay the sowing of spring crops because of the persisting rains.
