Egypt's GASC purchased 120 thou. t of Ukraine wheat

In an international tender, the Egyptian national buyer GASC bought 180 000 t of wheat for September 20-30 loading period, Refinitiv Agriculture reports.

As per GASC, the purchase includes 120 thou. t of Ukrainian wheat and 60 thou. t of Romanian.

Wheat will be supplied by:

  • NIBULON: 60 000 of Ukrainian wheat at 244.50 $/t FOB and $34.50 of freight, 279 $/t C&F
  • Inerco Trade (a subsidiary of Kernel): 60 000 of Ukrainian wheat at 244.80 $/t FOB and $34.5 of freight, 279.30 $/t C&F
  • Viterra: 60 000 of Romanian wheat at 246.86 $/t FOB and $33.05 of freight, 279.91 $/t C&F

Payment for the commodities supplied will be made by a letter of credit and a 180-day grace period.

As of 26 July, wheat export from Ukraine came to 424 thou. t, 64% down YoY.

Wheat harvesting progressed to 30% of the projected area. The crop yields 4.28 t/ha on average.
