Continental completed wheat harvesting at 6.2 t/ha
Continental Farmers Group (CFG) has finalized winter crops harvesting. During the first phase of the campaign, the agricultural holding harvested 459.4 thou. t of the new crop on 89.2 thou. ha.
Winter wheat covered 43.4 thou. ha, the actual yield reached 6.2 t/ha. CFG also completed the winter barley and rapeseed campaigns, the actual yield made up 6.23 t/ha and 3.43 t/ha, respectively.
"The first phase of the harvesting campaign was a success for Continental: the yields of most crops exceeded the targeted values. Despite the fact that the harvesting campaign was delayed due to unfavourable weather conditions, we managed to meet the agronomic deadlines and harvest the crops on time," comments Vitaliy Stavniychuk, CFG's operational director.
Continental operated 97 of its own harvesters, 11 of which were purchased this season. 746 trucks delivered the harvested grain from Continental's eight production clusters to storage facilities.
Continental Farmers Group is currently preparing the soil for the autumn plantings which have already started. The company is conducting post-harvest tillage and applying stubble destructors. At the moment, 85% of the area planned for winter rapeseed is already sown. CFG is getting ready for potatoes and late crops harvesting—sunflower, corn and soybean.
The new crop campaign in Ukraine progressed to 63% of the projected area as of 26 August. The bulk yield of grains and legumes reached 44.4 mln t.
