Ukraine's export-import flows intensified in Jan-July
In 7M 2021 (January-July), export-import flows of Ukraine increased, the Agrarian Ministry reports with reference to the monitoring data. Import of agricultural products boosted by 19.4%, export by 6.7%, balance grew by 1.2%.
Key export commodity groups in the reporting period:
- vegetable oil: 28.3% of the total shipment
- corn: 28%
- wheat: 10.2%
The countries of Asia dominate the export of agricultural products from Ukraine with a 50% share, the EU 27.2%, Africa accounts for 13.1% of external supplies, while the CIS holds a 5.9% share.
Largest importing countries in 7M 2021:
- China: USD 2.4 bln
- India: USD 947 mln
- Netherlands: USD 908 mln
- Spain: USD 538 mln
In 7M 2021, the export of commodities to Ukraine from the EU totals 48.4%, the dollar value worth of products delivered is USD 2.3 bln. Asia's share of supplies amounts to 20.1% or USD 843.9 mln. North and South America exported agricommodities worth USD 562.6 mln, accounting for 13.4% of the total shipment to Ukraine in Jan-July.
Exports to Ukraine are headed up by frozen fish (4.9%) and sunflower seeds (4.8%).
Ag commodities export from Ukraine in the period January-July 2021 is valued at USD 11.7 bln (7M 2020: USD 12.5 bln). Import to Ukraine is estimated at USD 3.51 bln (7M 2020: USD 4.19 bln).
Since the start of 2021/22, staple grains export shipment from Ukraine has made up 8.63 mln t, 12% up YoY.
