Viterra upgrades its oilseeds processing plant in eastern Ukraine
Viterra, the agriculture division of Glencore, plans to enhance the capacity and modernize its oilseeds processing facility in eastern Ukraine, in Kharkiv region — Peresichne Oil Extraction Plant (Viterra Kolos).
As reported by Kharkiv Region State Administration, the company expands its business operations and facilities at the OEP, including the reconstruction and new construction of production blocks and facilities.
In the plant's territory, the reconstruction is planned of the technological line of oilseeds receiving, cleaning, drying and storage sections (an additional line from the separator to the gallery of seed feeding to the plant). The capacity of the line is 75 tons of sunflowerseeds per hour. KMZ Industries manufactures the equipment.
The elevator complex will also be reconstructed to enlarge the existing 30 thou. t sunflowerseed storage capacity by 60 thou. t. The planned activities envisage the construction of facilities for receiving, processing and storage of sunflowerseeds and consist of the following buildings and units: weighing, unloading unit, seed cleaning and flow distribution facilities, waste treatment plant, two "wet" seed silos, 60 tons/hour seed drying unit, 152.6 thou. m³ silo complex.
The company also plans to reconstruct a secondary production. This will include the construction of a granulation section to be integrated into the existing scheme of production. The designed capacity of the oilseed meal granulation unit is 18 tons/hour.
Previously reported that Viterra was refunded with UAH 192.06 mln of VAT in September.
