Rains prevent Agrotrade grain storages from corn and sunflower reception

Grain storages of Agrotrade Group have practically completed the plan for early grains reception. The company reports its sunflower and corn campaign delayed for rains.

Agrotrade's grain elevators have already received 230 thou. t of grain for storage.

"As regards the quality of the received grain, there is more food wheat than feed. At the same time, the active phase of sunflower and corn harvesting has not yet started — the terms are two weeks late," comments Kostyantyn Vorona, Head of Agrotrade's Industrial and Technical Department.

He marks that the early grains in-take plan has been 97% completed. However, grain elevators continue to receive wheat for storage. Kostyantyn Vorona states that the company may exceed the planned 210 thou. t. Oilseeds storage has been 16% filled.

The company purchased a new truck lift for one of its storage facilities. The equipment was manufactured by Elevatorpromservice.

"We used to have a lift designed for trucks with a total weight of no more than 30 t, but the new one has the capacity to lift trucks of any type of unloading up to 80 t," he adds.

The facility's points of transport interchanges have been reconstructed, the capacity of the receiving hopper under the lift has been increased. The company's total investment in modernization made up UAH 7.12 mln.

The group operates nine grain elevators in Chernihiv, Sumy, Poltava and Kharkiv region. Their total storage capacity sums 570 thou. t.

The new crop campaign in Ukraine was 67% completed as of 30 September. Agriproducers harvested 47 mln t of grain.
