Sowing Online 2021/22: winter crops 72% planted in Ukraine, rapeseed sowing 98% done

As of 18 October, winter crops planting in Ukraine was completed on 5.7 mln ha, representing 72% of the projected area (7.84 mln ha). Sumy and Poltava regions are the first in Ukraine to complete winter grains planting, 100% of the planned area was covered.
Sowing progress as of the reporting date:
- winter wheat: 5 mln ha, 75% of 6.68 mln ha
- winter barley: 511 thou. ha, 50% of 1.02 mln ha
- winter rye: 139 thou. ha, 86% of 160.65 thou. ha
Winter rapeseed sowing in Ukraine was 98% completed on 1 mln ha of the planned 1.03 mln ha. This oilseed crop sowing was finalized in 18 regions. Dnipropetrovsk and Kharkiv regions exceeded the planned areas having sown 105% and 109% of rapeseed, respectively.
The new crop progress in Ukraine as of 13 October came to 52.6 mln t of grains and legumes on 11.6 mln ha. The average yield made up 4.48 t/ha.
