Sunflower average yield 72% higher in Vinnytsya region than Ukraine average

Olhopil agricultural company in Vinnytsya region completed sunflowerseeds harvesting at 3.97 t/ha of average yield. In the current production year, sunflower yields in Ukraine 2.3 t/ha on average.
The company managed to increase the average sunflower yield by 1.74 t/ha vs. the 2020 indicator.
"This year the agrofirm traditionally planted 900 ha of sunflowers, and the yield was much better than in 2020. We prefer hybrids of the Swiss company Syngenta. Thanks to compliance with production technology and favourable weather conditions this year we produced a good harvest," says the chief agronomist of Olhopil Ivan Dikhtyar.
The company delivered the sunflowerseeds harvested to its storage facility. The capacity of Olhopil grain elevator is 50 thou. t.
Sunflower harvesting in Ukraine as of 21 October was 83% completed. The new crop made up 12.69 mln t on 5.39 mln ha using the average yield of 2.36 t/ha.
In its October report, the USDA put the projection for sunflower production in Ukraine 0.5 mln lower vs. the previous month's indicator.
