Sowing Online 2021/22: 10% of cropland unsown in Ukraine

As of 1 November, winter crops planting in Ukraine was completed on 7.09 mln ha, representing 90% of the projected area (7.84 mln ha). Vinnytsya, Volyn, Zakarpattya, Luhansk, Poltava, Rivne, Sumy, Ternopil, Kmelnytsly and Cherkasy regions have completed winter grains planting, 100% of the planned area is covered.

Sowing progress in Ukraine as of the reporting date:

• winter wheat: 6.089 mln ha, 91% of 6.658 mln ha
• winter barley: 844.23 thou. ha, 83% of 1.021 mln ha
• winter rye: 156.89 thou. ha, 98% of 160.65 thou. ha

Winter rapeseed sowing in Ukraine was 99% completed on 1.019 mln ha of the planned 1.028 mln ha. This oilseed crop sowing was finalized in 19 regions. Dnipropetrovsk and Kharkiv regions exceeded the planned areas having sown 105% and 113% of rapeseed, respectively. Producers of Zakarpattya do not plant winter rapeseed.

The new crop progress in Ukraine as of 28 October came to 60.68 mln t of grains and legumes on 12.9 mln ha. The average yield made up 4.72 t/ha.
