Rashists demolished the only in Ukraine genetic bank of plants

In the city of Kharkiv, the rashists completely destroyed the only National Centre for Genetic Resources of Plants in Ukraine, Ukrinform reports.

Serhiy Avramenko, Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, a leading researcher at еhe Plant Production Institute named after V.Ya. Yuriev of NAAS, informs that the seeds were prepared for planting, and in March the staff was to start planting the collection.

According to him, the bank contained over 160 thou. varieties and hybrids from all over the world. He stressed that there were no soldiers or military personnel on the territory. It was a strictly scientific institution, which was deliberately demolished.

The bank has a long history, having survived the Nazi occupation but not the russian troops.
