Crop progress in Ukraine: 25.9 mln t of new crop harvested

14 regions in Ukraine have completed early grains harvesting. Three regions have harvested over 2 mln t of the new crop — Kirovohrad, Odesa and Dnipropetrovsk, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food reports.

As of September 8, grain and leguminous crops yielded 25.9 mln t on 6.726 mln ha, which is 60% of the planned area. The average yield of the crops is 3.84 t/ha (2021: 4.38 t/ha).

  • wheat: 19.2 mln t on 4.7 mln ha (99%), avg. yield 4.1 t/ha
  • barley: 5.5 mln t on 1.6 mln ha (100%), avg. yield 3.47 t/ha
  • rapeseed: 3.1 mln t on 1.096 mln ha (100%), avg. yield 2.85 t/ha
  • peas: 250.2 thou. t on 109.3 thou. ha (98%), avg. yield 2.29 t/ha
  • millet: 42.2 thou. t on 16.5 thou. ha (37%), avg. yield 2.56 t/ha
  • buckwheat: 30.6 thou. t on 21.2 thou. ha (18%), avg. yield 1.45 t/ha
  • sunflower: 392 thou. t on 251.4 thou. ha (5%), avg. yield 1.56 t/ha
  • corn: 18.4 thou. t on 3.9 thou. ha (0.09%), avg. yield 4.72 t/ha
  • soybean: 70.9 thou. t on 26.8 thou. ha (1.8%), avg. yield 2.65 t/ha
  • sugar beet: 42.9 thou. t on 820 ha (0.5%), avg. yield 52.3 t/ha

USDA projects wheat output in Ukraine in 2022/23 at 19.5 mln t, corn at 30 mln t.
