russia's putin accuses Ukraine of not exporting grain to countries in need, calls for agreement revision

president of russia vladimir putin again announced at a meeting on the 2022 harvest that Ukraine does not export grain to poor countries and the West is 'provoking a food crisis,' EPravda reports.

According to putin, the total grain production in russia this year could reach a record 150 mln t, including wheat. He also argues that sanctions on the export of russian grain and fertilizers 'are fraught with a global food crisis, the responsibility for which lies with the West.'

The president of the aggressor country claims that by September 23, only 4 out of 203 ships headed to such states, calling it 'a total deception' again.

In his words, it is the West, not russia, that has been blocking Ukrainian ports for months, demonstrated aggressive behaviour and is provoking a global food crisis.'

Latifundist.com in partnership with the US agrarian TV channel RFDTV conducted a fact-check and explained why putin's words about exports via the 'grain corridor' are a lie and an attempt to put pressure on Ukraine.

As a reminder, in early September putin already tried to disrupt Ukraine's grain export from the ports of Big Odesa. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy explained why putin's accusations were groundless and nothing but manipulation.

The Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine stressed that the initiative signed by Ukraine, the UN and Turkey on the safe transportation of grain and foodstuffs does not provide any restrictions on the geography of exports.
