Agricultural commodities exports from Ukraine top 10 mln t in month and a half

In one and a half months of autumn, Ukraine shipped 10.4 mln t of grains, legumes, oilseeds and products which is one million tons more than in the three summer months, the Agrarian Ministry reports.

"In particular, within 16 days of October, 3.6 mln t of grain was exported from Ukraine. In seven and a half months(Since the start the russia's war against Ukraine on 24 February 2022), 23 mln t of agricultural products crossed the Ukrainian border," the Ministry's update reads.

In October, for the first time since the beginning of the war, wheat gained the advantage in terms of supplies, and corn, which has been leading the exports in recent months, moved to the second position.

The volume of shipped wheat as of October 16 totalled 1.15 mln t,100 thou. t more than in mid-September. Corn shipment reached 1.09 mln t, 300 thou. t less than half of the previous month. In total, since the beginning of the war, Ukraine has shipped 4.6 mln t of wheat and almost twice as much corn.

  • 7.47% sunflower oil
  • 7.23% oilseed meal
  • 4.28% sunflowerseeds
  • 4.64% barley
  • 3.33% soybeans
  • 0.38% soybean oil

Transportation modes:

  • sea/river ports — 2.8 mln t
  • rail — 436 thou. t
  • trucks — 318 thou. t
  • ferry — 22.3 thou. t

2022/23 staple grains export from Ukraine came to 10.535 mln t as of October 14.
