Terrorist state russia insists on Ukraine grain deal amendment

Terrorist state russia called for Ukraine grain export deal amendment since, as the russian side claims, the principal commodities supplies from Ukraine are not delivered to the countries in need, Kommersant reports.

"Amendments are needed, we believe. After all, the primary purpose of the efforts made by both the UN Secretary-General and the President of Turkey was, I repeat, to help the poorest countries," deputy foreign minister of the russian federation sergey vershinin in an interview with russian journalists following the negotiations in İstanbul.

He argues that now Ukrainian grain is shipped primarily to developed and wealthy countries.

vershinin stated that the four-party agreement was reached in the name of ensuring food security foremost for the poorest countries of Asia, Africa and Latin America.

The deputy foreign minister also mentioned that there is "some progress" in the supply of russian food.

In late November, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced the launch of the Grain from Ukraine initiative. The President also stressed that russia deliberately impedes the work of the grain corridor, resulting in a 3-5 week waiting time for ships and several million tons of Ukrainian agricultural products not being exported every month.

The second phase of the Ukraine grain deal was signed in Istanbul on 17 November. It extends the Black Sea Grain Initiative for another 120 days.
