Agri-food exports from Ukraine in first half Jan dominated by corn

In the first half of January, Ukraine exported 2.3 mln t of agricultural products.

Corn formed the largest part of the shipment — 1.1 mln tons. Wheat shipments totalled 437 thou. t. Oilseed meal and soybeans rank third, with 199 thou. t of each commodity, the Agrarian Ministry reports.

Sunflower oil exports halved: in 18 days of December, supplies totalled 303 thou. t, while in the first half of January, the volume dropped to 148 thou. t. The difference in supplies is even greater in sunflower seeds: 93 thou. t in 15 days of January against 230 thou. t in 18 days of December.

Barley shipments also went down. In the first half of January, barley exports were 26 thou. t lower than in 18 days of December. "We are talking about 72 thou. t," the Ministry of Agrarian Policy mentioned.

It is reported that the volumes of rapeseed supplies declined 4x, which is primarily due to the end of the shipment season of this crop. Therefore, in the first half of this month, they made up only 44 thou. t.

The export supply of soybean oil remained virtually unchanged at 11 thou. t.
