UDSC loads its first sea vessel in Romanian Constanţa

The Ukrainian Danube Shipping Company (UDSC) for the first time loads a 45,000 DWT vessel. In recent weeks, 34,000 tons of barley has been shipped to the Romanian port of Constanța from Danube ports in several barge caravans. The grain is now being transshipped ship-to-ship onto the bulk carrier Ali M.

"The export operation is carried out as part of a single logistics service that we introduced last year. The caravans are loaded at UDSC's stevedoring complex in Kilia or other terminals and head to the port of Constanța, where they are transshipped to large sea vessels without delay," the company's CEO Dmytro Moskalenko wrote on Facebook.

UDSC controls the entire logistics chain, so the demand for the service among Ukrainian producers is ever-growing, as is the volume of agricultural products, he added.

"It is vitally important that in the face of the termination of grain shipments from Odesa ports, UDSC has retained the ability to handle large sea vessels. Even in the conditions of the traditional shallow water on the Danube, which can make it difficult to handle ships, the company's river barge caravans will continue to go to Constanța," Dmytro Moskalenko marked.

UDSC will operate its own fleet to deliver agricultural products from the Danube ports of European countries to the Romanian port of Constanţa.
