VITAGRO plans to build two more biomethane plants within 18 months
VITAGRO group plans to construct two additional biomethane plants over the next 18 months, each costing between €6 million and €6.5 million, the company’s press service told Forbes.
“We intend to build two more biomethane production facilities. One plant is expected to produce 3 million cubic meters, the other 5 million cubic meters. Each plant is valued at €6-6.5 million, with construction taking approximately 18 months,” VITAGRO said.
Currently, the company sells all its biomethane at market prices to Germany and the United Kingdom.
“Our 3 million cubic meter plant, which produces biomethane from livestock manure, is operating at full capacity. We are developing a pipeline and approaching Ukrgasbank for cooperation,” the company added.
Since the start of the full-scale russia-Ukraine war, VITAGRO has invested €20 million to convert a distillery purchased in late 2022 in Ternopil region into a bioethanol plant.
“We retooled the plant and now produce 25,000 tons of bioethanol for export, processing 85,000 tons of corn,” VITAGRO said.
