Kyrylenko: MHP shows signs of monopoly in Ukraine’s poultry market
MHP shows signs of holding a monopoly position in Ukraine’s poultry production and sales market, Pavlo Kyrylenko, Chairman of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine (AMCU), said in an interview with LIGA.net.
Responding to a question about non-state monopolies in Ukraine, Kyrylenko said that several large companies demonstrate signs of monopolistic (dominant) positions in specific markets.
“If we look at consumer and food product markets, signs of a dominant position can be seen in the MHP Group in the production and sale of poultry meat, and in the Interpipe Group in the production of specialised metal products,” Kyrylenko said.
He also noted that DTEK, which is part of the SCM Group, shows signs of a dominant position in certain electricity transmission and distribution service markets.
According to Forbes Ukraine estimates, as of June 2025, MHP was the leader of Ukraine’s poultry market, holding a 53% market share.
