AMCU monitors grain, logistics and transshipment markets

Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine (AMCU) considers all markets related to the production of grain: fertilizers, plant protection products. Also in the field of view of the Antimonopoly Committee are logistic and port transshipment markets.

This is reported in the interview with the head of the Antimonopoly Committee Yuri Terentyev for AgroPolit.com.

"Our task is to study the port problems systematically, because most of the grain is transported in this way. In addition, we also see the problem of Ukrzaliznytsia, river transport. There are cases of differentiated rates of port charges in different ports. These are the challenges for more than one day. In order to solve them systematically, the AMCU is changing the system of work today," Yuriy Terentyev said.

According to him, earlier the Committee worked on the basis of applications received from business, which made it difficult to collect data and delayed the process of research and investigation. But now the AMCU will constantly monitor the top markets. AIC and transportation are included in this list.

"I want a strong market department and a professional investigation department to form at the AMCU. We want business to trust us. To do this, you do not need to pass laws, just to establish a permanent cooperation with business. Both structures exist, but it is necessary to organize their work," the head of the Committee noted.
