AMCU confirmed the fine for one of the dairy companies in Ukraine

The Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine (AMCU) announced the confirmation of a fine of UAH 34 million, imposed in 2013 on the company Lactalis-Ukraine for placing incomplete information on the product package, informs  Interfax-Ukraine.

According to the information on the website of the AMCU, the agency left the decision of the Provisional Administrative Board of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine on September 5, 2013 No. 15-р/тку in case No. 16-04/02.13 unchanged.

The actions of Lactalis-Ukraine on placing on the label of the President's trademark cream brand "cottage cheese" inscriptions are recognized as a violation of Article 151 of the Law of Ukraine On Protection Against Unfair Competition:

Gaining unlawful advantage in competition shall be understood as gaining such advantage over another business entity (entrepreneur) by breaching any of the laws currently in effect and reaffirmed by decisions made by a competent authority.

AMCU also obliged Lactalis-Ukraine within two months from the date of receipt of this decision to bring information placed on the packaging of the goods in accordance with the characteristics of the product.

Reference: the French group Lactalis is represented by 237 plants in 42 countries.

Lactalis Groupe owns two milk processing plants in Ukraine in Mykolayiv and Dnepropetrovsk regions. The company produces products under the trademarks of President, Lactel, Dolce, Fanny, Lactonia, and others.
