Egg exports in Jan-May increased 52%

In January-May 2018, 36.76 thou. tons of eggs were exported from Ukraine, which is 52% more than over the corresponding period last year.

The State Fiscal Service of Ukraine (SFS) reports that in monetary terms egg exports are estimated at USD 34.12 million vs USD 14.1 million in January-April 2017.

In May 2018, 7.43 thou. tons of eggs were exported for the amount of USD 6.01 million, which is 31% more than in April (5.65 thou. tons).

The key importers of Ukrainian eggs are as follows:

  • the U.A.E. — USD 12.48 million (13.44 thou. tons);
  • Irak — USD 6.41 million (6.91 thou. tons);
  • Qatar — USD 3.54 million (3.82 thou. tons).

Reference: Ukraine became the leading supplier of eggs to the markets of the EU countries having exceeded the U.S. export volumes. Ukraine provided 38% of the total imports (as of early 2018).
