Exports of sunflower oil to increase by 11% in 2018/19

According to APK-Inform, the exports of sunflower oil from Ukraine may reach 5.75 million tons in 2018/19. This is 11% higher than the previous season.

“This will be the second highest figure after the record 5.85 million tons in 2016/17. If the actual yield of sunflower exceeds the expected level this year, the production and export of oil can reach an absolute maximum,” experts say.

During September-July 2017/18, Ukraine exported 5 million tons of sunflower oil, which is 8% less than during the same period of 2016/17. It is 96% of the forecasted export potential (5.2 million tons).

Reference: during January-June 2018, the turnover of agricultural trade between Ukraine and the EU increased to 3.9 billion USD.
