Grain transshipment in seaports up 25%

In the period from September 29 to October 5, the seaports of Ukraine exported 641 thou. tons of main grains, which is 25% more than over the corresponding period in 2017, APK-Inform reports.

Corn shipment volumes increased to 106 thou. tons vs 11 thou. tons, and wheat — by 21% to 440 thou. tons. At the same time, barley exports decreased by 31% to 96 thou. tons.

The top 3 seaports in terms of grain transshipment volumes are as follows:

  • Yuzhny — 255 thou. tons;
  • Chernomorsk — 171 thou. tons;
  • Odessa — 114 thou. tons.

Reference: in January-August 2018, the volume of grain transshipment in the seaports of Ukraine decreased by 9.54% as compared to the corresponding period in 2017 and amounted to almost 23.54 million tons.
