90% of the Ukrainian agribusiness has a bias against the current state support system — Bakhmatyuk
90% of the Ukrainian agribusiness is set against the current state support system, and 100% understands that the main problem which prevents the agrarian sector of the economy from developing is not the distribution of subsidies, but infrastructure problems and extortion of the defense and law enforcement agencies.
Such an opinion was expressed by Oleg Bakhmatyuk, owner of UkrLandFarming (ULF) and Avangard, RBC-UKRAINE writes.
Oleg Bakhmatyuk stated that his company had not received money under the program this year. Moreover, he considers the current system ineffective and unfair for 80% of market participants.
“Equitable distribution of subsidies should be automatic and independent of the official and businessman. We had a not perfect but working model of the automatic VAT refund. And it suited many. But now non-working models are offered that lead to imbalances and a mass of insinuations,” comments Oleg Bakhmatyuk.
In his opinion, it is necessary either to return to the automatic refund, which IMF will not allow, or next year the farmers should not be given any subsidies.
“A small farmer should be given the opportunity to legitimize the land and settle the issue with raiding. This is more important state support for him than the mythical subsidy. In addition, I support the idea of cattle breeding stimulating, when the state subsidizes every head of livestock. But this idea, unfortunately, demonstrates low effectivenes yet,” said Oleg Bakhmatyuk.
He believes that the funds that the state allocates for subsidies in the agricultural sector, which is about USD 4 billion, should be used for supporting of cattle breeding and cheapening of loans.
Earlier it was reported that Avangard had planned to recover the second position in the list of the world's largest egg producers which had been lost as a result of military aggression in the Donbass.
