Agricultural cargo transshipment in Jan-Nov increased — USPA

In January-November 2018, agricultural cargoes transshipment exceeded the volumes of the previous year, the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority (USPA) reports.

While grain transshipment volume is growing only by 0.1% or 38 thou. tons, other bulk cargoes such as peas and corn show a more significant dynamic: +8.4% or 717 thou. tons.

In total in the reporting period, the volume of cargo transshipment by the Ukrainian ports amounted to more than 121.5 million tons, which is 736 thou. tons or 0.6% more than in the relevant period of 2017.

Export of products increased by more than 10 million tons to 88.8 million tons. In addition to the leaders of transshipment (agricultural, metal products and container cargo), coal (+9.5%) and oil products (+14.5%) showed positive dynamics.

In the period from December 1 to December 7, 669 thou. tons of main grain crops were shipped by the Ukrainian seaports, which is 30% less than the previous week (950 thou. tons, taking into account the data actualization).
