American corn seen taking over traditional markets for Ukrainian corn

The change in trade relations between the United States and China has redirected trade flows. Thus, in the current season, there is a more aggressive presence of American corn on the traditionally Ukrainian sales markets such as Europe, Egypt, etc. This was informed by Sergei Dobrogorsky, Head of Agriproduction at Myronivsky Hliboproduct (MHP), APK-Inform reports.

In his opinion, despite these circumstances, a record corn harvest in Ukraine will ensure its record export. The key buyers at the start of the season will be the Netherlands, Spain, Italy, China and Egypt.

Previously it was reported that the year 2019 would be difficult for Ukrainian exporters not in terms of fluctuations in grain prices but in terms of keeping country’s position on world markets, even in those where it was a traditional grain supplier.
