Remaining wheat exports from Ukraine hit 4.6 mln t

The data of the State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection (SSUFSCP) shows that the Ukrainian wheat exports as at January 18th of the 2018/19 season reached 11.38 million tons or 71.1% of the total volume indicated in the Memorandum.

The APK-Inform consultancy reports that the deliveries of milling wheat and flour in grain equivalent stand at 6.65 million tons, and fodder wheat — 4.73 million tons.

"Wheat of all classes (with flour in grain equivalent) is already delivered at 71.1% of the volumes recorded in the annex to the Memorandum. Thus, the remaining amount of grain, which can be shipped before the end of the season, is 4.62 million tons. At the same time, milling wheat is already exported at 83.2% of the agreed volume (export balance — 1.35 million tons), fodder wheat — 59,1% (balance — 3.72 million tons),” the report says.

In connection with the above, the Agrarian Ministry stresses the need to comply with the terms of the Memorandum and asks exporting companies to send data on grain volumes scheduled for export by the end of the current season to the Ministry.

On August 10th, 2018, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine and the grain market participants signed the Memorandum of Understanding for MY2018/19. The total agreed indicative volume of wheat exports is 16 million tons, that is milling and fodder wheat will be exported in equal volumes — 8 million tons each.
