Avangard receives Halal certification for egg exports

Avangard Agroholding has acquired the Halal certificate authorizing the company for egg exports to the EU states (egg products are exported since 2014).

The certificate expands the company's export geography and opens the markets of the Near East, Africa and Asia.

“Obtaining a Halal certificate means that we can not only meet the demand for Halal products in Ukraine, where about 2 million Muslims live but also export them to the even greater number of countries around the world, in addition to increasing exports to Europe. For Europeans, the Halal mark is a peculiar quality mark. We also enter markets of the East, Africa and Asia, where the Islamic culture is strong and requirements for the compliance of food products are strict,” Marianna Konina, Head of the Avangard communications, commented.

By the estimates of the Halal Global Ukraine Certification Center, which issued the certificate, the turnover of the European market for Halal products reaches USD 66 billion. In the coming decade, it can grow by another 20-25 pct. At the same time, the global market for products meeting Halal standards is estimated at USD 500 billion a year, and the number of potential consumers is 1.5 billion.

In Ukraine, eggs produced by Avangard facilities are sold under the TM Kvochka.

In January 2019, Ukraine exported 12.66 thou. tons of shell eggs for the amount of USD 11.6 million, 62 pct more than in the prior-year comparative period.
