Astarta-Kyiv extra-grade milk production reached 70 pct

In the first four months of 2019, the agri-industrial holding Astarta-Kyiv increased the share of extra-grade milk to 70 per cent of total Group’s milk production (comparing to 30 per cent at the end of 2018).

"However, several farming units in Poltava region (LLC Agricultural company Dovzhenko, LLC Agricultural company Musievske, LLC Investment company Poltavazernoproduct, LLC Astarta Prykhorollya) already produce 100% of top-class milk," the company says.

In January-April, the company supplied around 40 thou. tons of milk to Ukrainian milk processing plants.

"Modern approaches to dairy farming help us to prove leadership on industrial milk market in Ukraine. We invest in genetics and healthy headcount, well-balanced feed production and comfortable placement, getting high-quality milk in return. Despite challenging pricing, we see the potential of this business segment in terms of efficiency growth," comments Mykhailo Travetskiy, Head of Dairy Farming Division.

Previously it was reported that Astarta-Kyiv had cut sunflower sales by 42 per cent to 11.83 thou. tons in Q1 2019.
