Rapeseed production, processing and export in 2019/20 forecast record high

Under the latest field data, rapeseed harvesting campaign was completed throughout Ukraine by late August. The APK-Inform analysts estimate the oilseed crop yield at 3.3 mln t, 16% higher from 2018. This volume is an absolute record for Ukraine.

"In 2019/20, Ukraine expects a further increase in domestic rapeseed processing up to 370 thou. t, 11% higher from the previous marketing year," the report says.

Analysts note that there is a potential for growth of rapeseed production and export by 10% up to 160 thou. t, production of rapeseed meal — by 10% up to 200 thou. t, shipment — by 16% up to 190 thou. t. All these indicators have reached record values.

Previously reported that agriproducers in 23 regions of Ukraine started winter rapeseed sowing campaign for the harvest 2020. As of September 2nd, 755 thou. ha or 70% of the forecast (2018: 703 thou. ha) are sown.
