Japan dominates pork imports in 2018

In 2018, Japan imported 15.5% of global pork volume worth USD 4.4 bln, Kurkul.com reports.
The top 15 global importers of pork in the reporting period are as followed:
- Japan — USD 4.4 bln of imports, 15.5% of the total import volume;
- Italy — USD 2.1 bln, 7.4%;
- China — USD 2.1 bln, 7.3%;
- South Korea — USD 1.7 bln, 6.1%;
- Germany — USD 1.7 bln, 5.9%;
- Poland — USD 1.7 bln, 5.9%;
- Mexico — USD 1.4 bln, 4.9%;
- the USA — USD 1.3 bln, 4.5%;
- the UK — USD 1.1 bln, 4%;
- France — USD 1.1 bln, 3%;
- Hong Kong — USD 859 mln, 2.4%;
- Check Republic — USD 669 mln, 2,4%;
- Romania — USD 615 mln, 2.2%;
- the Netherlands — USD 571 mln, 2%;
- Greece — USD 517 mln, 1.8%.
Previously reported that in January-August pork imports to Ukraine stood at 16.3 thou. t for the amount of USD 31.08 mln.
