Pork import to Ukraine increased in Jan-Aug

In January-August, pork imports to Ukraine stood at 16.3 thou. t for the amount of USD 31.08 mln.

The State Fiscal Service of Ukraine (SFSU) informs that in the reporting period import of pig meat exceeded supplies in the prior year's comparative period by 3.8% (Jan.-Aug. 2018: 15.7 thou. t).

Over the eight-month period, the key importers of pork to Ukraine are as follows:

  • Poland — USD 14.89 mln (47.91%);
  • Germany — USD 5.99 mln (19.29%);
  • the Netherlands — USD 3.17 mln (10%);
  • other states — USD 7.03 mln (22.61%).

Previously reported that in mid-September the Customs Tariff Committee under the State Council of the People's Republic of China cancelled additional import tariffs for US soybeans and pork.
