Ukraine delivered the first shipment of beef to China

The State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection (SSUFSCP) reports that Ukraine has exported the first shipment of beef to the People's Republic of China.

“We have been working on opening the Chinese market for Ukrainian beef for a long time. Both sides did a great deal of work, held many meetings and negotiations. Chinese colleagues inspected our enterprises and audited the state control system in Ukraine. As a result, we approved an international veterinary certificate for the export of frozen beef to China and the list of Ukrainian suppliers,” said the Chief of Directorate for international cooperation of SSUFSCP Olga Shevchenko.

According to her, the first delivery of frozen beef was formed and sent to China.

"We hope that the Ukrainian delegation will be able to see the Ukrainian beef on the shelves of Chinese stores during their visit to China to attend the meeting of the joint SPM subcommittee," Olga Shevchenko added.

In January-September 2019, the exports of meat products from Ukraine increased from USD 479 mln to USD 531 mln by 11% compared with the corresponding period in 2018.
