Grain export 2019/20: staple grains shipment approached 29 mln t

Since the start of 2019/20, Ukrainian seaports have shipped 28.9 mln t of staple grains for export.

As of December 20th, commodities shipment increased by 7.78 mln t from the comparative period of the previous year, the information and analytical portal of the agro-industrial complex of Ukraine reports.

The grain export structure in the reporting period is as follows:

  • wheat — 14.37 mln t (4.4 mln t more y-o-y);
  • barley — 3.67 mln t (533 thou. t more y-o-y);
  • corn — 10.6 mln t (2.88 mln t more y-o-y);
  • rye — 5 thou. t (73.2 thou. t less y-o-y).

As of December 1, 2019, stocks of grain and leguminous crops in Ukraine amounted to 30.5 mln t, 10.5% (3.56 mln t) less from the volume on the corresponding date a year earlier (34.07 mln t).
