Grain export 2019/20: trade volumes cross 31 mln t

Ukrainian seaports have shipped 31.10 mln t of staple grains for export since the beginning of 2019/20.

As of January 3rd, commodities shipment increased by 7.91 mln t from the comparative period of the previous year, the information and analytical portal of the agro-industrial complex of Ukraine reports.

The grain export structure in the reporting period is as follows:

  • wheat — 14.99 mln t (4.53 mln t more y-o-y);
  • barley — 3.73 mln t (554 thou. t more y-o-y);
  • corn — 12.01 mln t (2.84 mln t more y-o-y);
  • rye — 5 thou. t (75 thou. t less y-o-y).

As a reminder, the record-high harvest in Ukraine was an important factor in GDP growth, with rates exceeding 4% in the second and third quarters of 2019.
