Epicenter K acquired Svarog West Group's asset
The Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine authorized Epicenter K Group for the acquisition of Svarog West Group's asset in Khmelnytsky region, Khmelnytsk-Agro.
As Latifundist.com was informed by Epicenter K press service, the transaction is now in the process of being finalized. After re-contracting lease agreements for land plots, shareholders of Khmelnytsk-Agro will receive social guarantees from Epicenter Agro agricultural holding (agricultural business of Epicenter Group).
Vasily Moroz, head of the agricultural division of Epicenter K, informed that lease agreements will be renegotiated with shareholders in four districts of Khmelnytsky region — Krasylivsk, Nova Ushytsia, Slavuta and Shepetivka.
After the acquisition of the assets, the total landbank of Epicenter K will grow from 121.4 to 160 thou. ha.
Khmelnytsk-Agro specializes in crop production, livestock farming, grain storage and seeds production. These branches strategically and tactically fit into the business model of Epicenter K Group's agricultural development.
"Our goal is to increase the efficiency and profitability of new assets. Two more clusters will be created in the structure of Epicenter Agro to manage the additional land bank. On the lands of these clusters, in addition to the production of traditional crops — wheat, sunflower, corn and rapeseed, such niche crops as gymnosperm pumpkin will remain in the crop rotation system. The production of organic crops and sowing material under irrigation will be developed as well," added Vasily Moroz.
Previously reported that Epicenter Agro launched the first phase of the investment project — two new elevators were constructed and the capacity of two more elevators in Vinnytsya and Khmelnytsky regions were increased.
