Ukraine's Mar 21-27 sea port corn shipment halved

In the week of Mar. 21-27, staple grains shipment in Ukrainian seaports amounted to 774 thou. t, 39% lower from the previous week's volume (1.26 mln t, as provided by the figures updated), the APK-Inform consultancy reports.

Wheat supply reduced 5% in the reporting period and amounted to 303 thou. t vs. the previous week's 319 thou. t. Corn exports halved and totalled 412 thou. t. Barley shipment plunged by 21% and amounted to 59 thou. t.

The top three importers of grain in the past week are as followed:

  • Iran — 138 thou. t;
  • Egypt — 117 thou. t;
  • Turkey — 79 thou. t.

The leading position in terms of the handled volume of staple grains since the start of 2019/20 is held by the port of Mykolaiv (14.22 mln t). The port of Chernomorsk provided for the transshipment of 10.19 mln t, and Pivdenny (former Yuzhny) — 8.21 mln t.Agricultural products export from Ukraine (click for full resolution)

Since the start of 2019/20 (July 2019 – June 2020), Ukraine has supplied 45.41 mln t of staple grains to foreign markets. As of Mar. 30, agricultural commodities shipment increased by 7.82 mln t YoY.
