Corn shipment in Ukrainian seaports 23% up wk/wk

Staple grains shipment in Ukrainian seaports within Apr. 4-10 reached 1.15 mln t, 17% higher wk/wk (978 thou. t, as provided by the figures updated), the APK-Inform consultancy reports.
In the reporting period, corn shipment increased by 23% to 922 thou. t from 748 thou. t in the previous week. Wheat export volume grew 20% to 171 thou. t, while barley supply sank 39% to 54 thou. t.
The top three importers of grain in the past week are as followed:
- Iran — 228 thou. t;
- South Korea — 141 thou. t;
- China — 139 thou. t.
The leading position in terms of the handled volume of staple grains since the start of 2019/20 is held by the port of Mykolaiv (14.66 mln t). The port of Chernomorsk provided for the transshipment of 11.01 mln t, and Pivdenny (former Yuzhny) — 8.59 mln t.
Since the start of 2019/20, corn export shipment from Ukraine has grown to 24.33 mln t, 11% or 2.47 mln t more YoY.
