Wheat shipment climbed 1.5x

In the week of Apr. 11-17, grain export shipment in Ukrainian sea ports reached 992 thou. t, 15% lower from the previous week (1.17 mln t, as provided by the figures updated), the APK-Inform consultancy reports.

Wheat shipment in the reporting period increased by 47% to 319 thou. t vs. the prior week's 217 thou. t. Barley trade boosted 44% to 77 thou. t, whereas corn supply dropped by 33% to 596 thou. t.Agricultural products export from Ukraine (click for full resolution)

The top three importers of grain in the past week are as followed:

  • Spain — 216 thou. t;
  • Morocco — 118 thou. t;
  • Egypt — 93 thou. t.

The leading position in terms of the handled volume of staple grains since the start of 2019/20 is held by the port of Mykolaiv (15.05 mln t). The port of Chernomorsk provided for the transshipment of 11.09 mln t, and Pivdenny (former Yuzhny) — 8.78 mln t.

As of Apr. 17, grain export shipment from Ukraine grew to 48.66 mln t. Agricultural commodities shipment increased by 8.44 mln t (21%) from the prior year's comparative period.
