Cygnet Agrocompany completed plantings
Low soil moisture levels were observed at the beginning of spring field works. By the end of the sowing campaign, however, the weather changed markedly. Despite such atypical weather conditions, Cygnet Agrocompany sowed in technologically optimal terms, the company says.
Sugar beet planting was completed by April 3. The share of this crop in the current structure of sown areas is 14% or is 3.9 thou. ha. Compared to last year, corn areas sown have increased by 3% to 17 thou. ha.
This year, Cygnet allocated 16% of the sown area to soybean, that is 4.5 thou. ha.
"This spring's weather is nothing but extreme. But in general, I am satisfied with the way the current sowing season was going. Thanks to the high-tech and qualified team, the quality of the work was ensured. Besides, the weather by the end of the sowing season has improved, we have got enough precipitation. And it is beneficial both for shoots and freshly sown crops," says Oleksandr Haponyuk, Chief Agronomist at Cygnet-Center.
Specialists of the agronomic service say that quarantine measures have had practically no effect on the course of spring fieldwork.
As of May 7, early spring grain, leguminous and industrial crops in Ukraine were sown on an area of 13.34 mln ha or 86% of the planned 15.56 mln ha. Spring wheat, barley, oats, peas and sugar beet campaigns are complete.
