Sowing Online 2019/20: 10% of areas left to cover

As of May 14, early spring grain, leguminous and industrial crops in Ukraine were sown on an area of 14.1 mln ha or 91% of the planned 15.56 mln ha. Spring wheat, barley, oats, peas and sugar beet campaigns are complete.

At present, the sowing campaign of all spring crops is almost complete, except for soy and buckwheat.

Provided by the data of the Sowing Online 2019/20 Project, sown areas by spring crops are as follows:

  • wheat: 184.53 thou. ha, 100% of the planned 184.56 thou. ha;
  • barley: 1.516 mln ha, 100% of 1.516 mln ha;
  • oats: 186.35 thou. ha, 100% of 186.36 thou. ha;
  • peas: 282.71 thou. ha, 100% of 282.7 thou. ha;
  • corn: 4.97 mln ha, 92% of 5.39 mln ha;
  • buckwheat: 21.10 thou. ha, 28% of 75 thou. ha;
  • millet: 31.01 thou. ha, 40% of 78.01 thou. ha;
  • sugar beet: 209.01 thou. ha, 100% of 209 thou. ha;
  • sunflower: 5.62 mln ha, 91% of 6.2 mln ha;
  • soybean: 1.15 mln ha, 79% of 1.45 mln ha.
